Yashwant Sinha has been made a scapegoat by the opposition in the festival of political Bakri Eid (President Election)

Then in this way, it will not be an exaggeration to call Draupadi Murmu the next Excellency or the first Tribal Excellency.

Yashwant Sinha has been made a scapegoat by the opposition in the festival of political Bakri Eid (President Election).

The term of the current President, Ram Nath Kovind, is about to end, so keeping in mind the importance of Article 52 of the Indian Constitution, the process of electing a new President has started before the end of the term. An election poll to fill in the office is scheduled to be held on July 18, 2022 and the counting of votes will take place on July 21, 2022. Yashwant Sinha was unanimously chosen as the common candidate of the UPA and other opposition parties for the 2022 Presidential Election. On the same day, the NDA chose Draupadi Murmu as its presidential candidate.

In most elections, the ruling party and the opposition see their respective candidates, but sometimes unsuccessful attempts are made to build consensus. But if we look at the figures of the Electoral College, this time, it is all just a formality. It looks like the opposition has made Yashwant Sinha a scapegoat to satisfy their ego. According to article 54 of the Indian Constitution, the President of India is indirectly elected by an electoral college consisting of the elected members of both houses of parliament, the elected members of the legislative assemblies of the 27 states and the elected members of the legislative assemblies of the union territories of Delhi, Pondicherry, and Jammu and Kashmir. As of 2022, the Electoral College comprises 776 MPs and 4,033 MLAs. (Excluding the 90 MLAs of currently dissolved and recently delimited Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly). Overall, the members of the Electoral College were eligible to cast 1,098,903 votes approx., yielding a threshold for a majority of 549,452 votes.

The NDA's strong position in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha only makes it clear that there is no place for the opposition in the presidential election. The rest of the BJP has always been known for firm politics in which they have no habit of leaving any room for their rivals. Making Draupadi Murmu a candidate for the post of President demonstrates this quality very well. With this move, the BJP has also broken the unity of the opposition. As a result, Naveen Patnaik and Mayawati have openly come out in support of the NDA candidate. At the same time, the pressure on Hemant Soren has also increased.

Actually, in the election of the President of India, its value is decided differently according to the population of the member of each state. To become the President of India, the candidate has to get 50% of the total vote value. According to the current circumstances, NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu has about 49% vote value. She needs about 1% support.

Who is seen meeting the MLAs of Naveen Patnaik, Mayawati, and Shiv Sena (Shinde Group), then in this way, it will not be an exaggeration to call Draupadi Murmu the next Excellency or the first Tribal Excellency.
