The data tells a different story as the central government has not created as many jobs as promised. It should be mentioned, however, that in addition to directly creating jobs to staff central government ministries and agencies, the Modi administration has introduced several programmes that give young people access to employment prospects. The central government has introduced several programmes targeted at creating jobs, including Make in India, Start-up India, Digital India, Smart City Mission, Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana (ABRY).

Also, apart from direct job creation, the Modi government has launched a number of infrastructure projects across the country which would provide employment to many people. He emphasised the part about building infrastructure to create jobs. He reported that in the previous eight years, thousands of km of National Highways had been built nationwide, and ongoing efforts to double, convert to other gauges, and electrify railway lines have been made. He went on to say that the nation is modernising its train stations, building new airports, and creating new waterways, all of which would create jobs for a lot of people.
